Household Survey
The objective of the Monthly Household Survey is to collect key labour market information of the population. Information collected includes:
General Information
- How many persons are living at the selected address
- How many households* are formed from the number of persons staying in the selected address
*Households – A household is made up of persons who share
common accommodation and food arrangements. A household may consist of only one
person or many persons.
Data Items Collected (Definitions are available for the data items which are hyperlinked)
Section 1: For All Persons
- Name
- Relationship to head of household
- Date of Birth
- Sex
- Race
- Citizenship
- Residential status
Section 2: For Persons Aged 15 Years and Over
- Marital status
- Highest academic Qualification attained
- Workforce Skills Qualifications attained
- Labour Force status
If you are employed, you need to answer questions in Section 2A.
If you are unemployed, you need to answer questions in Section 2B.
If you are not working, and not looking for job and/or not available for work, you need to answer questions in Section 2C.
Section 2A (i): For Employed Persons Aged 15 Years and Over
- Employment status
- Occupation
- Industry
- Name of company
- Full-time or Part-time
- Gross monthly Income
- Usual Hours Worked
- Extra hours
- Hours of absence
- Type of employment (Permanent or term contract)
Section 2A (ii): For Part-timers Only
- Willingness to work additional hours
- Availability for additional work
Section 2B: For Unemployed Persons Aged 15 Years and Over
- Duration of unemployment (In weeks)
What you did while looking for work
- Whether worked before
- Main reason for leaving last job
Section 2C: For Persons outside the Labour Force Aged 15 Years and Over
- Reason for not working and not looking for job
