Unemployment rates declined slightly in August 2025 at the overall (1.9%) and for residents (2.7%), while remaining stable for citizens (3.0%) There were 65,800 unemployed residents1​ in August 2025, of whom 59,700 were citizens.2,3

While the labour market remains resilient, it faces headwinds. There are emerging signs of softening in some outward-oriented sectors, reflecting ongoing global uncertainty. These conditions present downside risks that may slow hiring in the months ahead.​
