End Monthly Unemployment Situation – August 2025

Unemployment rates declined slightly in August 2025 at the overall (1.9%) and for residents (2.7%), while remaining stable for citizens (3.0%) There were 65,800 unemployed residents1 in August 2025, of whom 59,700 were citizens.2,3
While the labour market remains resilient, it faces headwinds. There are emerging signs of softening in some outward-oriented sectors, reflecting ongoing global uncertainty. These conditions present downside risks that may slow hiring in the months ahead.
