​​Amidst the strong economic recovery and a tight labour market in 2021, more employees received wage increases last year, and wages also grew at a faster pace than in 2020.​ There was broad-based wage increases across sectors, but the magnitude of increase varied due to the uneven recovery from the pandemic. Wage growth continued to exceed inflation, though the higher inflation in 2021 has dampened real wage growth. ​
