Report: Labour Force in Singapore Advance Release 2017

This report analyses the key trends of the resident labour force in Singapore, based on data from the Comprehensive Labour Force Survey conducted in mid-2017. A final report of the survey findings will be published in report on Labour Force in Singapore 2017 on 26 January 2018.

Key findings: The employment rates for residents aged 25 to 64 and 65 and over continued their uptrend in June 2016-June 2017, while it fell among those aged 15 to 24 due to their higher propensity to pursue further education and postpone entry into the labour force. With the improvement in economic conditions, real median income rose faster in June 2017. At the same time, the unemployment and long-term unemployment rates for PMETs showed signs of improvement. While the unemployment rate for non-PMETs rose, their long-term unemployment rate remained unchanged.

For more key findings, please refer to the highlights of the report.
