Key findings: The resident labour force saw continued improvements in 2022, with most indicators returning to or performing better than pre-COVID levels.
- Resident employment rate continued to rise, while the unemployment rate fell across occupational groups to around pre-COVID levels.
- Other indicators on labour under-utilisation also improved to levels seen pre-COVID. Fewer workers were discouraged from seeking work, and the time-related under-employment rate fell.
- Notwithstanding high inflation, real incomes rose for resident full-time workers at the median and 20th percentile.
