End Monthly Unemployment Situation – April 2025

In April 2025, the unemployment rates for residents (2.8%) and citizens (3.0%) decreased slightly from March 2025. This followed a period of higher unemployment rates from January to March, compared to December 2024. There were 69,000 unemployed residents¹, of whom 61,300 were citizens in April 2025^2,3

While the unemployment situation is currently stable, there might be some disruption in the months ahead, due to global headwinds. Workers in trade-related sectors such as Manufacturing and Wholesale Trade are likely to be more affected.
