End Monthly Unemployment Situation – April 2025

In April 2025, the unemployment rates for residents (2.8%) and citizens (3.0%) decreased slightly from March 2025. This followed a period of higher unemployment rates from January to March, compared to December 2024. There were 69,000 unemployed residents1, of whom 61,300 were citizens in April 20252,3
While the unemployment situation is currently stable, there might be some disruption in the months ahead, due to global headwinds. Workers in trade-related sectors such as Manufacturing and Wholesale Trade are likely to be more affected.
