End Monthly Unemployment Situation – May 2026

Unemployment rates remained relatively stable in May 2026 (overall: 2.0%; resident: 2.9%; citizen: 3.0%), and continued to stay within the non-recessionary range. There were 70,700 unemployed residents
1 in May 2026, of whom 62,600 were citizens.2,3
While labour market conditions remain stable, external uncertainties could affect employment prospects and exert some upward pressure on unemployment in the months ahead.
