Advance estimates showed that Singapore’s labour market continued to expand in 2Q 2026, with employment expanding for the 19th consecutive quarter. Unemployment rates remained low and stable. While retrenchments increased, they occurred mainly due to business restructuring in selected outward-oriented sectors. Labour demand remains resilient, and business expectation polls point to an uplift in employers’ hiring sentiments.
