​Infographic: What Happened to Residents Retrenched in the First Quarter of 2020?

The Manpower Research & Statistics Department conducted a follow-up survey with residents retrenched in 1Q 2020. As at June 2020, a lower proportion of residents retrenched in 1Q 2020 found employment as the nation swung into circuit breaker mode. Nonetheless, those who found work were still able to do so relatively quickly. Majority who found a new job also stayed in a similar occupation, while half went into a different industry. More than half were also spared from a pay cut.
