Report: Labour Market Advance Release 2022

KEY FINDINGS

Advance estimates showed that the labour market expanded in 2Q 2024. Employment grew, while unemployment rates remained low and the number of retrenchments held steady. Forward-looking polls on hiring and wage expectations were unchanged from the previous quarter. As a result, we expect labour market momentum to be sustained, with wages and employment continuing to grow.
