Report: Labour Market Advance Release Third Quarter 2019

This release provides preliminary estimates of key indicators on the manpower situation covering unemployment, employment and retrenchment for the latest quarter.

Key findings: Preliminary indicators painted a mixed picture of the labour market in the third quarter of 2019. Growth of total employment was higher than the previous quarter and a year ago. The number of retrenchments rose over the quarter, but remained comparable to last year. We observe some mismatch taking place in the labour market, as unemployment rates inched up, even though there were still vacancies available.
