The restrictions placed on in-person training due to COVID-19 safe measurements did not have an adverse impact on training participation in 2020, as more turned to online learning. Most trainees liked that online learning offers them greater control over their learning schedule and learning environment, and three in four trainees would like having the option of online learning in future. However, the lack of social interaction was commonly cited as a disadvantage of online learning. ​
