On 27 August 2026, Statistical Specialist and NUS alumnus Soon Da Ren shared insights from his personal job-seeking journey and discussed the latest labour market trends with students. Da Ren was joined by Senior Statistical Specialist Lim Shao Yu, who emphasised that one's academic discipline does not necessarily determine one's future vocation, encouraging students to develop their skillsets and portfolios with curiosity and an open mind.

MRSD also introduced the meaningful work carried out by the department, highlighting the end-to-end journey of transforming survey data into valuable insights through robust survey design, data collection, processing and analysis. Through collaborative efforts and continual evaluation of these processes, the department aims to strengthen its reputation as a trusted partner in workforce intelligence and evidence-based decision making.
