Various indicators performed better in 2021 than in 2020. In fact, some have already recovered to or performed better than pre-COVID levels.

Resident employment rate rose significantly to above pre-COVID levels, with improvements across broad age groups and gender.
Real incomes rose, with median income surpassing pre-COVID levels. Real income at the 20^th percentile rebounded to around pre-COVID levels, and surpassed pre-COVID levels after including government transfers.
Unemployment and time-related under-employment rates improved and discouraged workers declined, but they remained above pre-COVID levels.
