Source and Coverage

Data on job vacancy are compiled quarterly from the Labour Market Survey by industry and by broad occupational group. Before 2006, the survey covers private sector establishments with at least 25 employees. From 2006 onwards, the survey also includes the public sector comprising government ministries, organs of state and statutory boards.

Once a year, a comprehensive Job Vacancy Survey, is conducted to obtain job vacancy by detailed occupations, industry, minimum qualifications and working experience required. It also identifies openings that are vacant for extended periods and those deemed by employers to be hard to fill by locals.
