Concepts and Definitions

Quarterly re-entry rate measures the proportion of residents who are in employment in the reference quarter, six months after retrenchment. For example, the re-entry rate for the first quarter of 2021 shows the proportion of residents retrenched in the third quarter of 2020 who had re-entered employment six months after retrenchment. Annual re-entry rate measures the proportion of residents who are in employment in the reference year, six months after retrenchment. For example, the 2021 re-entry rate pertains to residents retrenched from 3Q 2020 to 2Q 2021, who had re-entered employment by 2021 (six months after retrenchment).

Residents refer to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents.
